Wall-to-wall carpet

Stairs and landings are the hardest-wearing carpet in any house, and they are priced in the same hour as everything else.

  • Air movers to shorten drying

Area rugs

Colour-fastness gets tested before any water touches the rug. A dye that runs cannot be undone, so we check rather than assume.

  • Wool, synthetic, flatweave and shag
  • Fringe cleaned by hand, not machine
  • Colour-fastness tested before any water
  • Cleaned in place or taken off-site if delicate

Upholstery

The fabric gets identified before the method is chosen. Some covers take water, some take a low-moisture process, and getting that wrong shrinks them.

  • Sofas, armchairs, ottomans, dining chairs
  • Fabric identified before choosing the method
  • Low-moisture option for delicate covers
  • Cushions and crevices included

Pet stains & odours

If urine reached the underlay, cleaning the carpet alone will not fix the smell — and we tell you that rather than take the booking twice.

  • Enzyme treatment that breaks down the source
  • Underlay checked where it soaked through
  • Odour neutralised, not masked with fragrance
  • Safe around pets and children once dry
How extraction works

Four stages, and why each one matters

“Carpet shampooing” is the name on our rate card, and it refers to the pre-treatment stage of this process.

Stage 01

Dry soil removal

A commercial vacuum pass first. Up to 80% of what is in a carpet is dry grit, and wetting it before removing it turns it into mud.

Stage 02

Pre-treatment

The shampooing stage. A low-residue solution is applied and left to dwell so it breaks the bond between the soil and the fibre.

Stage 03

Hot-water extraction

Very hot water injected under pressure and vacuumed straight back out, carrying the loosened soil and the solution with it.

Stage 04

Grooming and drying

The pile is groomed so it dries standing up, and air movers go in. Four to six hours in most homes.

Why carpets in Vancouver need it more often than most. Eight months of rain mean grit and moisture come in on every pair of shoes and settle at the base of the pile, where a vacuum cannot reach. That grit abrades the fibre every time someone walks on it — and that abrasion, not dirt, is what wears a carpet out.  What carpet cleaning costs, and how long it really takes to dry here.

Why Clean House Vancouver

What you are actually paying for

Truck-grade suction

The difference between us and a rental machine is how much water comes back out. More extraction means faster drying and no mildew risk in a damp climate.

Low-residue, pet-safe

Residue is what pulls dirt straight back to the surface. We extract the solution out instead of letting it dry in the fibre.

The price does not move

Send us the rooms and we come back with a fixed number the same day. Nothing is re-priced once the hoses are already in your hallway.

Insured and bonded

A dye that runs or a shrunk rug is expensive. We test first, and if something does go wrong you are covered.

A dated invoice

Naming the service and the address, which is exactly what a property manager or a carpet warranty claim asks for.

24-hour re-clean

If a mark comes back as the carpet dries, tell us within a day and we return. Wicking happens, and fixing it is part of the job.

Carpet cleaning in Vancouver: your questions

How long does carpet take to dry after cleaning?

Four to six hours in most Vancouver homes, and you can walk on it in socks almost straight away. Dense wool, a cold day or a suite with no airflow can push it to eight. We bring air movers and open what can safely be opened, and we tell you before we start if your particular carpet is going to be at the slow end.

Is it worth getting carpets professionally cleaned?

If the carpet is more than a year past its last clean, yes — and the reason is cost, not appearance. Grit trapped at the base of the pile acts like sandpaper every time someone walks on it, and that abrasion is what wears a carpet out. Extraction pulls the grit out. Replacing a living-room carpet costs many times a yearly clean.

Is it cheaper to clean your own carpet?

A rental machine runs about $40 a day plus solution, so on paper it looks similar to two rooms with us. The difference is suction: rental units leave far more water in the pile, which means longer drying, a real risk of mildew in a damp climate, and dirt wicking back to the surface within days. If you do rent one, use half the solution the label says and do a second pass with water only.

Is hot-water extraction the same as steam cleaning?

In practice people use the words for the same thing, and it is what we do. Strictly speaking it is not steam: it is very hot water injected under pressure and vacuumed straight back out. True steam would risk shrinking natural fibres. “Carpet shampooing”, which is the name on our rate card, refers to the pre-treatment stage of the same process.

Will cleaning remove pet stains and odours?

Surface stains, almost always. Odour depends on how far it soaked: if urine reached the underlay or the subfloor, cleaning the carpet alone will not fix the smell and we will tell you so rather than take the booking twice. We use enzyme treatment that breaks down the source instead of perfume that covers it.

Do you move the furniture?

We move what two people can lift safely — sofas, chairs, coffee tables — and clean underneath. We do not move beds, pianos, full bookcases or anything on a granite top. Clearing small items off the floor before we arrive is the one thing that makes the visit shorter, and at an hourly rate that is money back in your pocket.

How often should carpets be cleaned?

Once a year for a typical household, every six months with pets, young children or a home with no shoes-off rule. Rental turnovers get it at every change of tenant. Most carpet manufacturers also require professional cleaning on a documented schedule to keep the warranty valid.

Do you clean carpets for an end-of-tenancy inspection?

Yes, and many Vancouver tenancy agreements require it with a receipt. We issue a dated invoice naming the service and the address, which is what property managers ask for. If you are also booking the suite clean, we quote both together and do them the same day.

Are your products safe for pets and children?

Yes. We use eco-premium, low-residue solutions and extract them back out rather than leaving them to dry in the fibre — residue is what attracts dirt back and what irritates skin. Once the carpet is dry it is safe for crawling babies and pets. If anyone in the home has a specific allergy, tell us at booking and we adjust the chemistry.

Which areas do you cover for carpet cleaning?

All of Metro Vancouver at the same rate: Vancouver, North and West Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Langley, Delta and Maple Ridge. No travel surcharge and no minimum outside the city.
