Photo policy and terms of service
We photograph our work so the result is verifiable rather than a claim. Those photographs are of your home, so we handle them under Canada’s PIPEDA and British Columbia’s PIPA — not as marketing material. This page is the whole policy, in plain language.
- Your photos are never published or used in advertising without your written consent
- You can withdraw that consent at any time, and we action it
- Ask us to delete them and we delete them — no reason required

So the result is provable, not a claim
Most of our clients are not home while we clean. The photographs are how you check the work, how a dispute is settled with a record instead of two opinions, and how a landlord releases a deposit. They exist for your benefit, which is why the rules around them are strict.
Fully documented
Before-and-after photos of the areas we clean, dated and attached to your job.
Strictly private
Stored securely under PIPEDA and BC PIPA. Never published, sold or used in advertising without your written consent.
For your eyes only
Sent to you on request, and to a landlord or property manager only when you ask us to.
Eight points, in plain language
Last updated 2 October 2026. Applies to all cleaning services provided by Clean House Vancouver, 422 Richards St, Vancouver BC V6B 2Z4.
01What we photograph
Our teams photograph the areas they clean, before starting and after finishing. The purpose is quality control and the verification of work done. We do not photograph bedrooms containing personal items, documents, screens, correspondence, medication, safes or anything that identifies you, and we do not photograph people.
If you prefer that we photograph nothing at all, tell us when booking and we will not. It changes nothing about the service or the price.
02Who can see them
- You, on request, at any time
- Our own team, for quality control and for training our cleaners
- Your landlord or property manager — only if you ask us to send them, for example to release a damage deposit
Nobody else. Not other clients, not suppliers, and not any third-party service.
03Marketing requires written consent
No photograph of your home is ever used in marketing, on our website or on social media unless you have given explicit written consent. Consent is specific to the images named in it, is never implied by booking a service, and can be withdrawn at any time without giving a reason.
If you withdraw consent, we remove the images from our own channels promptly. Where an image has already been shared onward by a third party we will tell you honestly what we can and cannot control.
04How long we keep them
Photographs are kept for twelve months from the date of the visit, which covers the period in which a dispute about work done would realistically arise. After that they are deleted on our normal schedule.
On a recurring plan, images from earlier visits are kept for the same twelve months and are not retained indefinitely because the relationship continues.
05Asking us to delete them
Email info@cleanhousevancouver.com with the address and the date of the visit. We confirm deletion within 30 days, and in practice much sooner. You do not need to give a reason and it does not affect your service.
Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA you also have the right to ask what we hold about you and to have it corrected if it is wrong. Same address, same timeframe.
06Keys, fobs and access
- Keys and fobs are logged against your job and held by named employees
- They are never labelled with your address
- They are returned whenever you ask, no notice required
- Lockbox and alarm codes are stored in the same way and are not shared outside the assigned team
07Our staff
Every cleaner is our employee, on payroll, and background-checked before entering a home for the first time. Nobody is subcontracted for the day. All staff are bound by a confidentiality agreement that covers everything they see in your home, not only photographs.
We are fully insured and bonded on every visit. The certificate is available on request, for you or for your building manager.
08Terms of service, briefly
- Fixed price. The total is confirmed in writing before the visit and is not re-priced on arrival. If the property is substantially different from what was described, we tell you what it would take and you decide — nothing is changed while a team is already working.
- 24-hour re-clean. If something was missed and you report it within 24 hours, we return and redo it at no charge.
- Cancellation. Skip or reschedule with 48 hours notice at no charge. There is no contract and no minimum commitment on any service.
- Damage. Report it and we handle the claim through our insurance. What we cannot do is repair pre-existing damage — holes, broken fittings or permanent stains are a repair question, not a cleaning one.
- What we do not do. Windows above ground level, pest control, carpet repair, hoarding situations and biohazard cleaning.
Photos and privacy: your questions
Can I ask you not to photograph my home at all?
Yes, and it changes nothing about the service or the price. Tell us when booking and our team will not take photographs. The only thing you give up is the record, which is what you would rely on if there were ever a disagreement about work done, or if a landlord asked for evidence before releasing a deposit.
Will my home ever appear on your website or social media?
Not unless you have given explicit written consent for those specific images. Booking a service is never consent. You can withdraw consent at any time, without giving a reason, and we remove the images from our own channels promptly.
How do I ask you to delete my photos?
Email info@cleanhousevancouver.com with the address and the date of the visit. We confirm deletion within 30 days and usually much sooner. You do not need to give a reason and it does not affect your service in any way.
What are PIPEDA and BC PIPA?
PIPEDA is Canada’s federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act; PIPA is British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act. Together they govern how a business may collect, use, store and delete personal information — and photographs of the inside of your home are personal information. They give you the right to know what we hold, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted.
Can you send photos to my landlord?
Only if you ask us to. It is a common request after a move-out clean, because a dated set of photographs plus the invoice is usually what a property manager needs to release a damage deposit. We never send anything to a landlord, strata or property manager on our own initiative.
Who holds my keys, and can I get them back?
Keys and fobs are logged against your job and held by named employees, never labelled with your address and never left in a shared pool. You can ask for them back at any time with no notice and no reason. Lockbox and alarm codes are stored the same way and are not shared outside your assigned team.
Any question about your data or your home
Write to us and you get a real answer, not a form response. Requests about photographs are confirmed within 30 days and usually much sooner.
Or call (604) 754-8039 — we answer the same day.
